Hello, fellow earthling!
I am an illustrator, animator, paintrix, and maker of random stuff. I have studied Visual Communication, live in Canterbury, UK, with my partner, our two daughters, and our cat Malcolm. I love nature (both kids are named after trees), books, podcasts, documentaries (particularly those on history, science, philosophy, feminism, and nature), museum collections, art, children's illustrated books, films, theatre and ancient history. I am a very friendly person who loves chatting, but over the past eight years, I have gradually started losing my hearing. Now wearing hearing aids in both ears, I find verbal communication more challenging in certain busy or noisy settings. I adapted by learning to enjoy silence and quiet places. I have always loved creating things with my hands, and any day you will find me drawing, painting, printmaking, sewing, doing claywork, animation, or collaging. Recurring themes in my works are speculative worlds of the past, women, nature, and dreams.
I am passionate about creating my own worlds and populating them with fantastical creatures.
I am fascinated by textures, and often use a mix of materials uninhibitedly — whatever feels right. Once I have sufficient information(research), I sketch or jump straight to work, and I let it evolve organically. The story is unfolding in layers upon layers, a journey of surprising discoveries. I like to spend enough time with each piece establishing a relationship, capturing fleeting ideas into forms, reimagining, experimenting, letting it achieve its full potential through me. I am often surprised when I see what I made/drew! It's like stories and characters have their own minds and will, and I am just the tool they use to manifest in our perceived physical reality. That's about all I can think of now.

If you like my work, email me for any inquiries. I have paintings for sale or can prepare high-quality prints of any of my works for £5 - A5, £10 - A4 and £15 - A3. I can do a variety of custom work - from packaging or pattern designs in vector shapes to house portraits in ink and watercolour. I work with oil, acrylic, ink, watercolour, pencils, dry pastels, alcohol ink, stamps, lino, digital drawing, collage, jelly printing, assemblage, sewing, paper mache, and clay! I am not screenprinting or risoprinting as I don't have the equipment in my small home studio, but I would have loved to do that too(one day, fingers crossed).
